My Growing Passion
The Sea to Sea bike tour combines two growing passions. I have always enjoyed biking but have fallen in love with it after buying a recumbent this past year. I also enjoy helping others. This really came into focus this past summer when I spent two weeks in Uganda. I spent the time teaching art at a Christian High School that is in a village with no running water and no electricity. I got to work with a group of students, with very little art education, to produce a large mural that now hangs in their school. Working with these students was a wonderful experience I will never forget. Seeing the living conditions of the people in this village was a difficult experience but is also something I will never forget. Sometimes, in the face of such large problems, we feel helpless to do anything. However, by participating in the Sea to Sea bike tour, we can help many people break the cycle of poverty and hunger.
